About GYM NO. 4

Gym NO. 4 is a high-performance training facility designed for those looking to make a commitment to their long-term health through the four pillars of fitness: Strength, Endurance, Mobility, and Community.

Our 2 adjacent facilities work together in efforts to train the way you want to train. Gym NO. 4 is made up of our group class facility (The Fourth Street ANNEX or just "The ANNEX") and our Strength and Conditioning facility (The Weight Room).

Our priority is to offer a convenient and encouraging atmosphere that aims to meet each athlete's individual goals with customized programming options, convenient open gym hours, personal training, and diverse class offerings. The combination of two side-by-side building units creates a unique fitness experience unlike anything else offered in Long Beach, CA.

What are ANNEX TRAINING Group Classes?
Group Classes are designed to enable anyone and everyone to "add on" to their current level of fitness. After an initial consultation with a coach, clients will determine what classes to take, and how often, according to their goals - whether they want to lose weight, build strength, tone certain muscle groups, train for a marathon, or simply have more energy to take on a busy life. All classes are scalable, so while everyone will be challenged, no one will be left out. Gym No. 4's innovative approach removes all barriers to entry, allowing clients to cater their membership commitment to their unique personal fitness goals and busy schedule.
Train
Our signature class blends everything you need to get in a good sweat. Group warm-up, functional strength and stability training, metabolic conditioning (cardio) and a stretch sesh to wind down.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in achieving and maintaining a general level of fitness, is looking to get stronger, is looking to improve overall endurance, would like to improve flexibility and range of motion.
Bootcamp
Get your heart rate up and keep it up with this classic internal training or HITT class. Each 60-minute sesh mixes traditional calisthenic body weight exercises with unique and effective interval-based strength training. These classes aim to work your whole body, keep you sweating, and your muscles burning.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in intense interval training, is looking to get stronger, is looking to improve overall level of fitness, is looking to lose weight.
Engine
Test your endurance threshold with 30 minutes of HIIT, interval, sprint and long distance workouts. Engine constantly changes workout formats to keep pushing your cardiovascular limits. Perfect for athletes looking to lose weight, compete in a race or simply stop wheezing while walking up a flight of stairs.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is an endurance athlete looking to be efficient, is looking to lose weight, is looking to sweat, is looking to improve overall endurance and metabolic thresholds.
Competition
30min small group class with programming that is meticulously varied to safely push your intensity limitations through a wide variety of functional movements. You can expect to see higher volume and higher skilled movements being introduced to each class. Just because the movements are higher skilled does not mean that this class is only for the elite. With each movement, there will be proper progressions introduced to ensure a solid foundation of strength is built before moving to the next progression. Every athlete is required to track their progress throughout this class in regards to weight, rounds, reps, and workout times. With the constant tracking of this data, you will be able to keep an eye on your progress and we will be able to tweak our programming to better suit our athletes' needs. To achieve the best results in this class, it should be taken in conjunction with The Weight Room's Strength Track.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in constantly pushing your level of intensity through varied and modifiable movements, is interested in monitoring their progress through measurable workouts, is looking to get stronger, is looking to improve endurance, is a CrossFitter looking to supplement their training with a safer and more effective alternative.
Muscle
A half hour of iron pumping, muscle burning, weight training focused on a specific muscle group every training session. This class aims to increase strength, muscular development and growth. Guaranteed to increase your number of mirror selfies.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in bodybuilding aesthetics, is interested in shaping your shoulders and lifting your glutes, is looking to get stronger.
ROMWOD
This 15-20 minute long class, following our Competition Class, addresses the number one limiting factor of all athletes, their range of motion! Whether you are trying to get into better positioning in your overhead squat or you just want to sit on the floor to play with your children, ROMWOD will help. Coaches will be assisting you through a different set of stretches every session

Is this class right for me? YES, this class is for any and all athletes of all athletic abilities.
What is the Weight Room?
The Weight Room features an "open gym" format geared towards people who want to pursue their own programs, with coaching/programming/guidance available as desired. We will start each client off with a thorough assessment where we delve into history of injury, training experience, and fitness goals. The client is then instructed through a series of movements giving us the opportunity to see how they move through each of The Gym's three tiers: Olympic Weightlifting, Strength, Speed and Conditioning.
Olympic Weightlifting
Spend your time honing your lifting skills from one of the best in the sport. Whether you're training to compete, for CrossFit or just pure enjoyment, leveled programming will propel you towards your goals.

Is this track right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in specializing in the Olympic Lift, would like better technique, efficiency and coordination with the the snatch and the clean & jerk, is a CrossFit athlete and would like specialized programming and coaching for Olympic Lifting.
Strength Training
Intermittent strength cycles based around the squat, bench, deadlift and press are sure to build your strength and push your current weaknesses and limitations. A great way to add a solid strength program on to your current regiment.

Is this track right for me? If you are an athlete who: is looking to improve explosiveness and power, would like better technique, efficiency and coordination with the deadlift, squat & press and other related lifts.
Speed & Conditioning
A unique workout not offered anywhere else in the Belmont Shore area. Speed & Conditioning will take you through power building movements to improve your coordination, strength, endurance, agility and ability to produce force all within one butt-kicking workout. This is the perfect addition for the athlete in us all.

Is this class right for me? If you are an athlete who: is interested in improving their overall explosiveness, speed, and power, is looking to improve overall muscular reflex, is interested in improving central nervous system response to fatigue, wants to improve efficiency in delivering oxygen to your muscles, is an endurance athlete looking to improve lactic acid threshold.

Do you prefer the one-on-one attention and intimate setting of personal training? Many of our coaches have backgrounds in personal training with expertise in all areas of fitness. Our coaching staff is motivated to help you reach your goals in an environment that is comfortable for you. Pricing starts at $75 per 45 minute training session.
Personalized Programming
Do you have specific training goals? We want to help. Schedule a time to meet or talk with our head trainer to discuss your goals and hear the trainer's recommendations. Not a member? Not a problem! Barbells & Brews
Barbells & Brews is our Coffee and Weightlifting Pop-Up Shop. Powered by the expertise, experience, and knowledge of National Champion and Team USA Member, Caitlin Hogan, we bring elite Olympic Weightlifting programming and coaching to your gym. The sport of Olympic Weightlifting is booming and athletes are extremely enthusiastic about lifting weights. We know with most fitness classes, there is minimal time to teach the Olympic Lifts properly. Gym owners and coaches don't always have the time to allocate to an additional weightlifting program. This is where our pop up shop comes into play. Not only do we bring the programming and the coaching to your gym, but we also bring the coffee. What is our coaching philosophy?
The coaches at Gym No. 4 are above all things passionate, professional, and performance driven. We pride ourselves on pushing our own fitness education to allow us the ability to share the most progressive training and nutrition methodologies with our members. What sets the best coaches apart from the average is not only the quality of their service but also the quality of their insight (the actual coaching). Our staff focuses on fostering a welcoming and active environment that shares the desires of self improvement combined with world-class coaching, a clean and professional environment, and a passion to make those around us better. What should you expect during a Free Week?
We want you to get a great feel for everything we offer here at Gym NO .4. This is why we offer all inquiring athletes a free week of group classes. Come as many times as you'd like throughout your free week and experience every program we have to offer. If you're interested in training in the weight room, you will have the opportunity to schedule your trial with one of our expert weightlifting coaches during your free week. At the end of your trial, you'll sit down with your coach to map out a plan for you based on your level of fitness and individual goals. To get started fill out the form below.
